One of my experiences with an online media company which has
been publishing Online News Paper for over 25 years now is quite a surprise. I
will here under share some of the vital facts about that agency. I was
interacting with the company to provide my hand written news and articles,
which were bought by them at a fair price too. One fine day I found one of my articles
which were written in form of an essay displayed on the front page. I was
completely mesmerized and felt glad that the editor has finally considered my
articles to be genuinely good and has given it a top place on the front page. I
went on reading the article in order to confirm weather it was my article of if
it was written by someone else. After reading line by line I found it to be the
same article which was written by me and sold to them. But to my surprise I
found the writer's name to be one of the senior journalists of the
organization. I was completely taken a back and went to meet the editor in
chief.
When I have explained him everything in detail he asked me
to drink some water and chill down. I dropped down at the chair right in front
of him took a deep breath and settled down sipping the water. He smiled and
started talking to me, he said that these are minor things and keep happening
in such corporate environment. I was surprised by listening to these words from
his mouth, but he continued, he said that there is a cost to everything and so
had been the cost of my articles too. He said that the company has bought my articles,
now to publish it on someone else name or to publish it on my name or to throw
it in the dustbin depended upon the sole discretion of the company. He also
said that I have been paid for the article which I have sold to that company.
Now I completely understood what and how things would have happened.
This was a great learning experience in deed. Not stopping
to this, I also have several different experiences of the industry, but let me
tell you, not all the companies and their principals are same. For instance I
would like to share another example of one of the similar companies for which I
used to write the articles and content for. I had such a wonderful experience with
them. They used to provide me a handsome payout against each articles written
by me and also they used to publish my name below the articles written by me,
which not only was source of money for me but was also a source of my private
branding. I was getting popular amongst the media group and was being
recognized as a sincer content writer.
